A drawing from observations in Sierra Espuna. These pines live in the vast forest that was established due to the foresight of the Murcian philanthropist Ricardo Cordorniu (nicknamed the Tree Apostle). He successfully campaigned for reforestation which was carried out towards the end of the 19th Century. Sierra Espuna is a haven for a variety of flora and fauna.
