This is the rarest among Taiwan's five native lily species. It was first discovered in the Taian Mountain area of Miaoli in 1915, and plant specimens were collected. However, due to prolonged human-induced habitat destruction, it disappeared for 96 years. It was only rediscovered in 2011, and conservation efforts have been initiated since then. Very fortunate to be allowed to take physical photos in the rehabilitation area as drawing references. The elegant form of the plant is truly admirable.

Chinese Leucas serves many purposes in Taiwan. It is a medicinal herb known for its excellent anti-inflammatory effects and can also be used as a healthy ingredient. Particularly, the Hakka community believes it has the power to ward off evil spirits. The structure of Chinese Leucas is quite fascinating, reminiscent of a space station. Its leaves resemble solar panels, providing energy to the plant, while the circular flowers on the stem resemble independent compartments. The seeds, like escape pods, hold the hope of future life. So I depicted various perspectives to showcase its circular arrangement and the sequential opening of flowers. The entire plant is depicted as having a hairy texture. Additionally, on the left side of the canvas, I illustrated the overall growth of the plant. Their strong vitality enables them to adapt to various environments, even thriving alongside roadsides.
